10:54PM - Saturday in Detroit
Mr. robriki and Ki had plans today, so I took the boys to Belle Isle in Detroit. It was a bit windy and cool but we had fun. I had the dog with me and we found an odd-looking ball. It intrigued me so I scooped it up and put it in the van. Bri was helping clean out the van when we got home and asked about it. "I dunno, it's some kind of ball. We can go inside and look it up." He picks it up and says "I think it's a cricket ball." Okay, I have no idea but we can Google it. Yup. Jock child.

5:23PM - RIP Douglas Fraser
I just found out about the passing of former UAW (United Auto Workers)president Doug Fraser on Saturdsy. I had the opportunity to have lunch with him about a year ago in a diner in Detroit. It was an interesting group at the table, which included myself, one of my former professors, Mr. Fraser, a police artist from the Detroit PD, and the diner's dishwasher. We had a lovely diner lunch and some great conversation. His health had been poor for some time, but I still saw him around campus a bit right up 'til I finished school in December. Peace to his memory.

8:39AM - I guess it means they're growing up
When your kids leave for the first day of school, AND DON'T EVEN SAY GOODBYE TO THEIR MOTHER, does that mean they're growing up???? Sigh. At least my daughter said goodbye to me when she left.

5:34PM - It had to happen sometime
I just got back from taking Ro to the airport. His first time away from home, his first plane ride, the whole deal. He went to camp in Canada with 20 other kids who have MS. I was VERY brave and didn't burst into tears at the gate at the airport, mainly because I was ticked Mr. robriki announced I had to take him to the airport by myself. Grr....but I guess it was good for me. It will be interesting to see how Bri deals without his twin for a few days.
